Cuz I Can't Get Enuff

My Mulatu Astatke obsession doesn't seem to be ending any time in the near future. To start the day off proper, well officially start, the day has been going on for a bit now, here is a clip of the man Mulatu with The Heliocentrics. As good today as it was back in the day. Like this and I will find more reasons to like you.

Dreaming of the Ultimate Dub Box

In the past, I've built some homemade oscillators/ circuit bent machines. Been looking for some inspiration to build a new dub box and came across these interesting concoctions. I'll update as I build my newest device and relearn how to solder, should be interesting. Come back soon to check the build process. In the meantime, if you are wondering what it is I am even talking about, check out the links to these examples of dub boxes.

Positive Images

This video has been hit like 25,000 times in the past day or two that it has been up. See why.. It looks and feels so right. Share this video so the world can see some positive images for once..

From the producers:
"Ridzdesign Presents The Narcicyst featuring Shadia Mansour - "Hamdulillah" (Official Music Video) Directed and Edited by Ridwan Adhami Written by Yassin Alsalman and Shadia Mansour Original Track produced by SandhiLL Piano by Stefan Christoff Additional production and arrangement by Doctor Dinar and The Narcicyst To say 'Hamdulillah' is to be grateful for what one has. The images of the past decades have cast a veil on our identity as a people. We, as international brothers and sisters, are now witness to injustice in real time. We watch our Wars in HD. Injustice is played in real time. It is time for us to claim our faces back. This video is a global collaborative effort by 10 photographers- from London to Lebanon, Cairo To Canada, Abu Dhabi to America- to create a portrait of the New Global Citizens. They are DJs, MCs, poets, architects, teachers, doctors, parents and children. Most of all they are people. Thank you to everyone that was involved. We are blessed to have each other"

Catching up

So after a travel packed summer, it's time to catch up with this blog and talk about how I need to get on the regular with this spot. In the past few months, I've been in Maine, Philadelphia, Chicago, Jersey Shore (can't say i've seen the show, but in real life it's mad entertaining) and NYC. I am now fully prepared and ready to not go anywhere for a minute and catch up with some music. Therefor, this big tune, Longtime, from Gappy Ranks seems appropriate right about now. Heard this one for the first time while running some tunes with co_Cognizant Sound operator Lukaduke on WMPG in Portland, ME, back in July and have yet to overplay it. If you've been locked in a room for the past year then maybe you've missed out on all the big tunes Gappy Ranks has been dropping. In the event, you haven't been paying attention, then we'll try to get you updated right now:
